Firehose Lava meets the Sea
I took a small boat tour to see the Firehouse Lava flow hit the Ocean. This is an incredibly rare phenomenon and it was sheer luck that I was able to visit the Big Island at this time. I had always wanted to see molten lava and when I did, it was exploding with fury into the sea. I got close ups, but this image gives a context to the flow and explosive nature of the lava as well as the beautiful day in the background.
