Butterfly Survivor in the Desert

This Anise Swallowtail butterfly has apparently survived some fairly brutal attacks by predators. I watched as it flitted around some flowers in the Anza-Borrego desert, and while it was clumsy, it was doing surprisingly well. It's amazing what physical limitations can be overcome by sheer willpower!
