Bunnycross, found floating in the Gowanus Canal in the spring
Bunnycross is part of my GOWANUS project, phonebook, exhibition and artist talk focused on one of the most contaminated waterways in the US. I sat on the bulkheads during the spring & Easter season and photographed the islands of debris as they floated by. The islands are natural accumulations and are not staged or touched by me. This looked like a palm cross but is actually a bouquet. I named it Bunnycross because it was around Easter but also suggested some pagan ritual merged with Christian iconography.
