Bull Elk of the Cataloochee Valley

Elk were released into the Cataloochee Valley in 2001 as an experiment to reintroduce them into the park. Now the herds can be observed in the fields by tourists and wildlife lovers. I observed this herd for about 45 minutes to an hour trying to capture the character of these animals.
