Brown leaf chameleon in Madagascar
Ecotourism without education can be an empty, even detrimental, venture, for it is only in learning and trying to understand the unique situation of a place that lasting solutions can be put in place. As part of the School for International Training's Madagascar program in Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management, understanding all sides of the story was emphasized while studying the conflicts and success stories of conservation in Madagascar. This photo was taken during a field trip to Manombo Special Reserve, a low-altitude rainforest on the southeastern coast.
