The late afternoon sun, weathered rocks eroded by wind and surf, playing with the camera and 500+ images later you have an optical illusion by nature. Look at it from the left, right, top and bottom.
This impressionistic image looks "photoshopped," but is the result of lens manipulation. The center of the image initially draws the eye, yet the rest of the image's unique effects draw interest. 
Ducks "parade" around Stowe Lake in the Spring trying to attract mates. This image caught the drake as he lifted his bill from water. The reflected sky in the waves produced an interesting effect.
Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park offers thousands of unique photo opportunities every day, and with the change of seasons many more; this one turned out to look like a watercolor painting.

Taken early evening as the sun was setting, the reflection of the eucalyptus and redwood trees along with a blue sky on Stowe Lake in Golden Gate Park created a dreamy, watercolor-like effect.
