Bison of the Tetons: American Bison foraging in deep snow beneath the Grand Teton
During the winter, bison use their big heads to shovel away snow to feed on the frozen vegetation buried beneath. These bison were foraging on a hill with the Teton Mountains in the background. In This photograph, you can even see the Grand Teton which is the tallest mountain in the Tetons. Another day in the life of the bison within the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
