Awe at First Sight

It was a hot summer morning and the waterholes inside the Nagarhole National Park were almost dry. We sat in a safari jeep by a waterhole waiting for to see if we could get lucky. Suddenly we hear the warning calls from the langur and deer. The naturalist said, ‘today could be our lucky day’ I was excited; could it be a tiger – I wanted it to be a tiger as I had never seen one in the wild and minutes later, this regal creature appeared from the bushes. The mere thought still gives me goose bumps.
