Autumn in the Izu Peninsula, Japan
On a recent walking trip through the less-explored Izu Peninsula in Japan, we hiked through the woods and came upon this carpet of freshly fallen autumn leaves in full splendour. The form and texture of the tree roots added to the magical feeling I felt walking through that carpet. Living in Singapore where there are no seasons, I really loved the experience of seeing Autumn foliage and the changing colours on the trees in different stages. For me, it was seeing Mother Nature at her very best and a memory I will always cherish.
