A Waved Albatross Pants on Espanola Island, Galapagos
Our nature photography group had been observing the Waved Albatross all morning on Espanola Island, and I had been struggling to capture the perfect droplet of 'sweat'. These enormous birds pant to reduce heat and drops escape from their hooked bills. As we were getting set to depart, I finally managed to capture a glistening droplet as it fell from a bill. The patience and effort it took to get this shot has made it my most favorite from my time in the Galapagos.
