A Pangolin Showing his Tongue!

Of all the creatures I never thought I would get to see during my time in South Africa, this guy was at the top of the list. Pangolins aren't easy to come by, they are incredibly rare and increasingly endangered because of their high value in the illegal pet trade and the use of their scales in traditional medicines. In fact, they are the most poached animals in the world, more so than rhinos and elephants!
