14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest
A Kangaroo being a Kangaroo
This photo was taken in Lone Park Koala Sanctuary on my school trip to Australia in February 2016.
The meaning of this photo is that we all have our goofy moments. It is good to let go of the things which cause stress in our life. It allows us to feel kids again, being worry free and enjoying every moment for what it is. The story behind this photograph was I was taking a selfie with the kangaroo when it started licking my cheek. I pulled away and quickly captured a photo of the kangaroo while it still had its tongue out. Everytime I look at this photo a smile grows on my face. I remember the amazing and unforgetable moments I experienced while traveling with my high school.
