A gray heron in flight

The backwaters are an ideal place to see the majestic water birds. a gray heron looks ordinary when wading or standing in the water, but it is a sight to behold in flight. It falls in that category of water birds which put their neck in an 's' shape while flying (other like the flamingos extend their necks to full lengths)
