A family of japanese cranes in a ferocious snow storm in Hokkaido, Japan.

I traveled to Hokkaido (from Switzerland) in order to observe and photograph this bird of legends. The heavy snow storm hit the island the very first night I arrived. East Hokkaido was heavily hit, roads closed and trains stopped. Photographing in the storm I tried to capture the swirls around the elegant forms of a family group that was standing, together in the middle of the storm.
