16th Annual Smithsonian.com Photo Contest
A dramatic evening in Glacier Bay National Park.
This past summer, I had the opportunity to explore the exclusive beauty of Alaska. During my trip, I fell in love with the glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park. The dramatic still and quiet, and the caving of ice makes for any photographer’s ideal shoot. I particularly loved the drama behind this photograph. I hope that those who view it, would see a fraction of the beauty that I witnessed, in person, this summer. To witness raw, untouched, nature is something that can never be replaced. No photograph can truely capture the magnitude of the moment; however, they tend to spark a sense of wonder, and I am all for it.
