A black swallowtail caterpillar snacks on some dill.
After accidentally overplanting dill, I noticed (for the first time in my garden) a black swallowtail butterfly laying its eggs in the mature plants. Within weeks, some of these eggs hatched into caterpillars. Though none survived to the cocoon stage, it was great fun to watch them grow and snack on the extra plants.
