The Picker

Many people throughout Cambodia choose to sort through garbage dumps to make a living, such as the woman depicted is doing; it allows them freedom to take care of their family when they need to as opposed to a regularly scheduled job. They pick through household, industrial, and medical waste to find recyclables they can sell to a middle man for a small profit.
