Lens on lens

In everyday life we all have a lens that very close to us. When someone come to see you or knock the door. You have to keep your eyes on that to measure or confirm the identity of that person. It seems to me that when we keep our eyes on a camera lens to identifying the subject to capture something. So i guess it is the impotence of a lens in our daily life. Thanks.
