Harvard of Another Time
The 2015 spring semester at Harvard afforded the students no less than 6 snow days after the school had not given a snow day since the 1970s. On the very first of the snow days, I decided to take a walk through the Harvard Yard with my friend to revel in the day off like I would have as a child. All of the roads in Boston were closed that day as was public transit. As we neared the edge of campus we saw fellow revelers taking advantage of the closed streets. It looked like Harvard from the 1800s. I absolutely love the bicyclist pulling the sled. The sledder's arms out represent, to me, the pure, uncontainable joy we all still feel at the news of a snow day, even as adults .
