Colorful rocks and hoodoos in the Paint Mines Interpretive Park

The Paint Mines Interpretive Park in Calhan, Colorado, is an amazing geological area once inhabited by Native Americans. The colorful clay was mined for use in making pottery. The park is open to the public and is protected by the El Paso County Parks Department.
