An elephant of the Beijing Zoo

This photo was taken in the Beijing Zoo. I traveled to China on a service trip, and one of our activities was visiting the zoo. To me, this photograph is beautifully sad. The elephant is confined to a limited space and is located in the middle of the city (as you can see with the building in the background). It shows the cultural differences from America, where we have certain laws that protect animals.
