A protected turtle nest on top of a dune at Carolina Beach NC.

On vacation in Carolina Beach, North Carolina in August 2015 I was fortunate enough to capture a protected turtles nest on the top of a sand dune. I found it interesting because the turtle climbed the dune and then laid their eggs instead of choosing an easier location. The round the clock sea turtle protection is a very serious matter on Carolina Beach.
