A fleeting moment of unity: Moon over the el
As I was waiting for the el train at the Western Avenue Brown Line stop in Chicago on this evening in early fall, the sun had just gone down. I looked up as the train pulled in and saw this moment of pure, unexpected beauty and unity between man's invention and the natural world. I'm so glad I have a record of that moment. There is so much ugliness in that interplay at times, and I feel grateful to have experienced a little snippet of balance and peace. I think it shows us what's possible, and we need that reminder.
