611 Coming Home

This photo shows the Steam Locomotive 611 pulling into the rail yard in the middle of Roanoke. After millions of dollars, and city wide support for restoration of the locomotive, it was finally sent off to be restored. Finally, the locomotive that had been built half a century ago in this city was finally returning back Roanoke under its own power. The steam engine is a local icon and a source of immense pride for the city that built it.
