Waders Waiting - Oyster Farming in Maryland
This photo depicts gear used by oyster farmers in Hollywood, Maryland. These hard-working oyster farmers grow their oysters at the mouth of a creek surrounded by over two thousand acres of protected parkland on the Patuxent River, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay. Maryland's waterways are its source of pride, nourishment, economic development, travel, as well as home to plants and wildlife.
