The Quiet Flame

This photo captures the essence of the American Experience by depicting a stick set aflame by a campfire. A camping chair is just visible in the background, but that is the only sign of civilization in sight; a forest extends behind the smoke, and mountains are just beyond. The image is meant to convey the adventurous spirit that still resides deep within us, our desire to continue our exploration into the unknown.
