I chose to submit this image to the American Experience category because of how I felt on the day I sat under the Eiffel and marveled at its glory. Three weeks before November 13th, a day that shocked the world, I sat on a bench and admired the Eiffel Tower. We tend to get lost in our nationality: who we are, where we come from. But we are so small in the greater scheme of things. We are all one in the same- journeying through the Human Experience. For me, the American Experience is be proud of my homeland, but to also have the wisdom to strip away titles, nationalities, religions, and fear of one another. If we could just carry humanity and peace with us always- every day could be just as beautiful as the day I sat under the Eiffel Tower and marveled at the beauty that exist in our world.
