Pyrotechnics and a Pukish Smile

Catching fireflies. Barbecue parties with family and friends. Independence Day Parades. Fireworks. Some experiences are emblematic of idle summers in the United States. One of the great rewards of photography is being at the right moment at the right time, camera within reach. On the eve of Fourth of July a few years ago, I stumbled on such a magic moment when I photographed a boy who held sparkles in both hands.
