16th Annual Photo Contest

While visiting Washington, D.C. with our boys 11 & 8, we were walking along the Vietnam Memorial at night. They were silent as we walked down the sidewalk, dragging their fingers over the names. They would stop every 10 feet or when they saw their own name. I had the realization as my youngest stopped and stood quietly that every name on that wall belonged to the son of another American woman.
