This photo was taken in Richmond, Virginia at the 29th annual 2 street festival. The festival celebrates the rich culture of the historic Jackson Ward neighborhood in Richmond. This was taken at the outside concert where hundreds of people listened to gospel and r&b music towards the end of the festival. I captured two beautiful children who sit atop their parents shoulders growling at each other bringing to life what was painted on their faces. They totally disregarded everything around them including me who was right behind their parents taking the photo. Their innocence made me want to capture them.
