13th Annual Photo Contest

Onlooker reads the words of a graffiti artist, "Who watches the NYPD?" The question in itself expresses the popular majority’s uncertanties, as the birthing pangs of a new civil rights movement trigger awareness against police brutality and the widening gap in the criminal justice system. The silhouette solemnly symbolizes the unidentified faces of the young African American lives that have been, and continue to be victimized by a corrupt system.
