I always have believed that while humans tend to portray themselves as the dominant species on earth, nature will inevitably rejuvenate itself and ultimately triumph over our technologies.
Although Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is mainly covered by lava, the starkness of the landscape around the site of ancient petroglyphs still manages to be breathtaking.
We were fortunate enough to see 2 of the world's remaining 1300 monk seals while on our Christmas trip to Hawai'i.
