Abandoned Navajo Post in Monument Valley

A spontaneous trip through dusty, scorched Monument Valley on Fourth of July weekend. Driving through Navajo Land, you encounter post after post of ghostly makeshift souvenir shacks. The intense sun creates heavy shadows on the sand. The American flag flaps next to the Navajo Nation flag in the dry wind. A strange experience on this patriotic day.
