A Heroic Legacy

My mother and nephew, her grandson, can be seen in the reflection of the black marble of the Vietnam Memorial. At just 5 years old, my nephew was trying to understand what all these names meant, and one in particular - my mother's cousin - who was killed tragically in Vietnam after leaving MIT with a full academic scholarship.
