1972 Volkswagon Beetle, Austin, Texas

This is an image of what appeared to be a broken-down 1972 Volkswagon Beetle that was parked in an incredibly busy section of west 6th Street in downtown Austin. The reflected image of a nearby Cedar Elm tree reflects the possibility that the car, like the tree, was setting down roots. To me, the car, the tree, and their location completely capture the authentic essence of Austin in a single image.
