The Shake-off

American Oystercatcher pair making a run for it through a patch of Sand Flies - The Belly of the Hook, Sandy Hook National Seashore (Gateway National Park), Fort Hancock, New Jersey The determined fem leads the way, while her mate falls behind as he shakes off a biting fly. The Jersey Shore AOCs breed in Jersey, and winter at the Big Bend (the area on the Gulf side of Florida where the panhandle meets the main peninsula). Maybe not as nice a Boca, but it suits their needs nicely.
