Lepidoptera wings

Nature's abstract patterns never cease to amaze me! I found this dainty swallowtail in the backyard and it seemed to have been high on nectare as it barely moved so I managed to take it inside and take a series of shots. After the shoot I released it back into nature. Papilio anactus, the dainty swallowtail, dingy swallowtail or small citrus butterfly is a medium-sized butterfly from the family Papilionidae, that is endemic to Australia. For protection against predators, this non-poisonous butterfly mimics the poisonous male Cressida cressida.
