Beyond the limits
This famous shell of St James is carried by pilgrims on their way to Compostela, the final destination of the whole journey. Tradition says that in the early times people would use this scallop to beg food from people of the towns where they pass by, and the measure of the food will depend on the size of the scallop. This walk is a journey “beyond the limits” of strenght. People get sick, get bruised, get terrible and painful blisters, but the journey must continue and only the fittest reaches the final destination. Despite the differences of the culture, language and mentality, the Way of St James is the way of peace, love and mercy.
