Celebrating fifty years in 2020, WheatonArts is a place where imagination and artistic process meet, a place that engages artists and audiences in an evolving exploration of creativity. For 50 years, over two million people have explored WheatonArts to learn more about the arts, history, and cultural heritage that have influenced our region and beyond. Located on close to 45 idyllic acres in Cumberland County, NJ, and home to the Museum of American Glass, the Down Jersey Folklife Center, interactive artist studios, nature trail, award-winning Museum Shops, a 10,000 sq. ft. Event Center – WheatonArts is an anchor destination for artistic and educational experiences that include museum and gallery exhibits, interpretive artist demonstrations, museum docent tours, hands-on educational opportunities for children and adults, artist residencies, seminars, multicultural programs, and festivals. WheatonArts is a true creative community, open to the public six days a week from April to December.

Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
