Virginia Discovery Museum

524 East Main Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 - United States

The Virginia Discovery Museum fosters intellectual curiosity and development for all children of our community, and envisions a future in which all children in our community are inspired to be lifelong learners. We seek to be a vital community resource where children from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds explore, imagine and discover together.

The Museum has many exciting exhibits on display that encourage young kids to explore their imaginations while learning about history, art, science, etc. We are focused on exhibits that offer a truly local learning experience.

-STEM Lab focused on the principles of gravity, flight, and motion

-Construction Zone for budding architects

-Literacy Lounge with tons of books

-Sensory Studio for our littlest visitors

-Virginia Heritage Area that boasts an actual log cabin

-Little C’ville in VDM’s Back Gallery showcasing a Panera Bakery, a Bank of America, a Sound and Music Studio, a mini UVA Children’s Hospital Office, a Discovery Farm with a giant tractor, and a Discover Outdoors exhibit complete with a cave and a ranger station.
