The small foothills town of Hudson, North Carolina, is now home to Mitford, America’s favorite small town in fiction.

When you visit The Mitford Museum, you’ll find a new and exciting way to enjoy the fourteen Mitford novels of American author, Jan Karon.

You’ll also learn more about local history; see the vestments worn by Mitford’s beloved priest, Father Tim; explore a fabulous array of collectible Hallmark/Mitford items; find a favorite Uncle Billy joke; discover the real Miss Fannie’s Hat; and learn what life events inspired Jan to write about ‘ordinary people living ordinary lives.’

Located in Jan’s former grade-school building (now a proud and active Arts Center), our museum has its own book and gift store. Happy Endings Bookstore is the only venue in the world where it’s all Mitford, all the time, and your leading source for Mitford books signed by the author.
