Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum for families that blends science, nature, and play. The museum and its Discovery Woods outdoor nature playscape and 550-square-foot treehouse are accessible and blend the best of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) learning on a beautiful 4.5-acre campus abutting 180 acres of conservation land. Discovery Museum is located in Acton, MA, about 20 miles west of Boston.
Play, explore, and learn with hands-on interactive STEAM experiences that inspire curiosity, discovery, and fun! Explore a 13ft. air maze; tinker, build and invent like da Vinci; control, move, and divert water; and more!
Go on a nature adventure in the fully-accessible nature playscape and treehouse. The 550-square-foot treehouse serves as a launching point for outdoor activity and woodland exploration. Bounce the wiggly bridge, sway in the nest swing, and investigate the rain garden and beaver lodges.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
