Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum

The Sodus Bay Historical Society operates a local history museum in the Sodus Bay Lighthouse, which was built in 1870. Visitors can climb the lighthouse tower, enjoy beautiful gardens, and shop for unique gifts.
Exhibitions include lighthouse tools, Fresnel lenses, maritime artifacts, ship models, railroads and trolleys, and a commemoration of the War of 1812 Battle of Sodus Point.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
