Seiberling Mansion and Howard County Museum

The Seiberling Mansion is a restored Victorian home built in 1891 during the Indiana Gas Boom. Along with period decor and architecture, visitors will see exhibits related to the history of the Indiana Gas Boom and Howard County, Indiana.


Exhibits include artifacts related to the area’s industry and innovation, including the Indiana Gas Boom, the inventions of Elwood Haynes and George Kingston, and the birth of the auto industry.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
