River of Time Museum

12901 N La Montana Drive, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268 - United States

Located in the heart of Fountain Hills, Arizona, the River of Time Museum merges the social sciences of history, archaeology and anthropology in combination with the natural sciences to preserve and interpret the past, to understand the present and to promote future sustainability in all of the communities of the Lower Verde River Valley - Fountain Hills, the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and the Verde communities.

Our Museum houses the artifacts, stories and history of the Lower Verde River Valley, its people, the river and the land. Travel back to the time of the Hohokam and early Yavapai to learn how the River sustained these people for thousands of years on the dry, desert land. Move through time to learn about the ranchers and early settlers of the area, the unique characters of historic Fort McDowell and the beginning of Fountain Hills and our world famous fountain.

The Museum will offer free docent tours, interactive activities and Living History characters that make the past come alive.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
