The Palmetto Historical Park offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the history of Palmetto and the area on the north side of the Manatee River. The 1914 Carnegie Library, turn-of-the-century cottage, and replica chapel give a glimpse into the pioneer lifestyle. While touring the park, children of all ages can check for mail at the 1880 Post Office and write on slates in the Schoolhouse. The newest addition to the Park, Cyprus House Military Museum, is a salute to those who have served our country in the armed forces. The Palmetto Historical Park is a joint project of the Palmetto Historical Commission, Manatee County Clerk of Circuit Court, the Manatee County Board of County Commission, and the City of Palmetto.
