Old Salem Museums & Gardens

600 Old Salem Road, Winston Salem, NC 27101 - United States

Old Salem Museums & Gardens is a unique community of original museum buildings, authentic craftsmen practicing their trade, fascinating collections of rare antiques, and one-of-a-kind retail shopping opportunities.

In addition to our usual self-guided tour of the historic Town of Salem to experience authentic interpretation of Moravian life in colonial times, the following additional events and programs will be offered:

The Old Salem Cobblestone Farmer’s Market will be held from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon (no ticket required). Old Salem Museums & Gardens is pleased to partner in bringing fresh, local farm products into the heart of the city and restoring a tradition that began in Salem more than 200 years ago.

A visit to the self-guided galleries of the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) in our Frank L. Horton Museum Center are included in your admission. MESDA offers visitors a wide range of southern artistry and craftsmanship from the 1670s through the early nineteenth century. Then as now, a rich cultural diversity characterized southern lifestyles and material culture. Guided tours of the full galleries of MESDA are also available (with the purchase of an additional ticket). Visit mesda.org for more information.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
