Exhibits

Ohio-Champion of Sports
Explore Ohio's place in national sports history in an interactive exhibit featuring more than 70 first person stories covering more than 25 different sports! View items that capture the emotion of Ohio sports, share your sports stories and practice your victory dance!

1950s Building the American Dream
Get a remarkably realistic look at life in the 1950s. Peek in the closets and snoop in the drawers of a real, fully-furnished Lustron prefab steel house made right here in Ohio.

The Nature of Ohio
Tour Ohio’s unique natural history from the Ice Age to the present. Start at the famous Conway mastodon and explore Ohio’s plants, animals, geology, geography and climate.

Follow the Flag
See real Civil War battle flags that have been conserved through the Save the Flags campaign. These flags are accompanied by stories of those who lived through the war, as told in their own words.

Following in Ancient Footsteps
Journey into the world and culture of the ancient people of Ohio. Some of the most famous artifacts ever found in Ohio are displayed in cases and drawers for you to explore.

The Great Collections Experiment
It’s not an exhibit—it’s an experiment! Traditional museum exhibits only display a small portion of a museum’s collection. In our Great Collections Experiment we’re trying out new ways of displaying and sharing more of the amazing, priceless and sometimes quirky objects in our vast collection. While conventional exhibits usually tell a story about an event or a time period, these new galleries focus on displaying beautiful and intriguing objects and leave the storytelling up to you.
