Welcome to Oak Hill & The Martha Berry Museum, one of Georgia's most prized attractions! We tell the story of Martha Berry and Berry College through tours of the historic home, exhibitions in the museum, events on the grounds and educational programming.

The Oak Hill home, built in the 1880s is the Greek Revival mansion of Martha Berry, founder of Berry College. Oak Hill was the childhood home of Martha Berry and later became her adult residence, altered to her taste. Oak Hill was gifted by Martha Berry to the schools and remains intact as she left it in the 1930s. The Martha Berry Museum opened in 1972 on the Oak Hill Estate as a complement to the home and as a place to further tell the story of the Berry Schools. The museum has multiple galleries exhibiting the Permanent Collection and Special Exhibitions.

Exhibits

Guided tours of the Oak Hill Home are led by Berry College students and are available on the hour from 10 AM - 3 PM. We recommend using our website to reserve a tour time in advance.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
