One of Washington's newest museums, the Museum of the Bible is a 430,000 square-foot facility that invites all people to engage with the history, impact and stories of the Bible. Located just blocks off the National Mall, the Museum of the Bible has something for guests of all ages and all walks of life.


The award-winning Hebrew Bible walk-through experience, the Israel Antiquities Authority gallery, the History of the Bible floor with over 600 biblical artifacts, and the only museum in D.C. with living history interpreters!


Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
